Through the program in collaboration with Naver Corp, students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology have access to knowledge base and technology solutions from leading European experts.
Specifically, the first AI course, namely Self-supervised representation in speech processing, will take place at 20:00 on May 11 (Vietnam time). The lecturer is Prof. Laurent Besacier – a leading expert in the field of NLP at Naver Labs Europe in France. Prof. Laurent Besacier used to work at the University of Grenoble Alpes (2009), where he led the GETALP group (NLP). Prof. Laurent Besacier will give lectures online through MS Team. The lesson will provide basic concepts of advanced techniques such as APC, CPC, multitasking self-monitoring, encoder-decoder model…
The second AI course, namely Image representations and fine-grained recognition, is held at 21:00 on May 17 under the instruction of the expert Yannis Kalantidis. He worked at Facebook AI (2017-2020) and Yahoo Research (2015-2017) before joining Naver. This course is only for students, masters in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. During the lesson, the lecturer will introduce techniques of using neural networks, solutions, tricks in model training, and how to handle small and unbalanced data.
Finally, the course Visual search will be held at 19:30 on May 31. The lecturer is Dr. Diane Larlus – an expert of Naver Labs Europe team since 2010. Before that, he worked at TU Darmstadt (Germany, 2008-2010). Dr. Diane Larlus will introduce the visual search problem and its application, presenting traditional search techniques with manual extraction features such as Bag-of-words, VLAD. In addition, the program also disseminates knowledge about modern techniques based on neural networks such as disentangled learning, learning to rank…
These are the first events to open a series of active activities at the BK.AI Center. Along with the training program, the researchers from BK.AI will discuss with experts from Naver Labs to study many AI topics and apply them in real life.
