Abstract:

3D scene understanding is active research topic in Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition with a wide spectrum of applications including virtual reality, intelligent systems, and robotics. This seminar aims to equip audience with general knowledge about 3D scene understanding with research problems, approaches, and challenges. Specifically, technical and implementation knowledge on building a complete pipeline for scene understanding will be described. Several important topics in scene understanding and results will be discussed. Finally, datasets and tools facilitating 3D computer vision research will be presented.
